When the opportunity presented itself to build a new pediatric center, Aurora Children’s Health in Green Bay, Wisconsin jumped at the chance to make valuable changes to the clinic. In the enclosed recent MGMA article, Aurora made changes to patient flow efficiency that led to improving the overall patient experience.

As we continue into the value-based reimbursement model of healthcare, the patient experience and overall satisfaction becomes critical to the health of the practice. Aurora implemented alternative scheduling, onstage/offstage design, engaging aesthetics and patient locator technology, to improve the patient experience in the clinic. The elimination of the waiting room, addition of large screen displays providing staff and patient location, and Wheel Scheduling (seeing the more complex patients at the top of the hour), ultimately furthers the efficiency of the office and improves patient satisfaction.  Reinventing-the-care-experience.pdf
